I graduated from law school in 2005 and came straight to Springfield to start working at what was then Taylor Stafford Clithero Fitzgerald & Harris. One of my first assignments was to work on a case where Jim represented the Plaintiff. Although I learned so much from the partners at my firm, I learned some of the most important lessons about being an attorney from Jim. He was always collegial, kind and honest. He never made me feel like the inexperienced new kid on the block that I was. He didn’t embarrass me or try to make me feel ineffective. He was always welcoming and I could tell how much he cared for his own clients. It didn’t take long to figure out which attorneys I liked to have on the other side and Jim was definitely at the top of that list. And of course, he had the best commercials. I am sending many prayers to Matt and the rest of the family. I know he leaves a large hole in our community and in your family. God bless you all and I hope you cherish your memories.
