I will always be grateful that I was blessed to be associated with Jim Corbett. I started working at Corbett Law Firm between semesters of law school in December 1999, and worked there until I became a judge in Webster County on Jan 1, 2015. Jim took me under his wing and patiently taught me virtually everything I know about how to be an effective lawyer. Nobody knows very much about how to actually practice law when they get out of law school, but Jim took the chance on me and helped me along. I know there are literally hundreds of people who felt Jim took particular interest in helping them. That is because Jim truly lived the Christian principle that EVERY human being is valuable in God’s sight. Therefore, every person is worthy of being respected. This world would be a much better place if more people were as decent and humble as Jim. I know he has already heard Jesus say “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
