Jim always made me feel better about myself after I was around him or talked to him. He always spoke highly of my kids which always made me feel proud and good. He was always upbeat and never bragged about himself or his family regardless of his or their accomplihments. Although he was an excellent trial attorney (he kicked my ass the one time we tried a jury trial against each other) he was always self-deprecating about his cases or skills. He was proud of Matt carrying forward the Corbett legal mantle. He and Deborah generously let my family enjoy the Corbett cabin in Whistler for a vacation one summer. He was just a good person. I am a better person to have known Jim. I am now sorry that I did not make a greater effort to connect with Jim after his diagnosis became public. Rest in peace, my friend.
